Announcement of EURL-PH-AMR Open online discussion forum (for members of EURGen-Net) 9 June 2026

Title: Phenotypic AST of Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Acinetobacter baumannii (related primarily to carbapenems and colistin)

Brief description: Short introductions followed by questions and discussion. Attendees are invited to propose topics for discussion.
To the extent that time will allow, one or several of the following topics may be addressed: (i) disk diffusion and MIC testing - is one more reliable, (ii) when clinical breakpoints and ECOFFs are the same and when they are not - consequences for screening for resistance, (iii) to what extent can we trust commercial systems to detect carbapenem and colistin resistance, (iv) the usefulness of the website for MIC and Zone diameter wild type distributions and ECOFFs for calibrating local laboratory efforts - a short introduction with examples from Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Acinetobacter baumannii.
